  • Yacht brand and model
  • Bareboat or Skippered or Crewed yacht
  • Yacht age
  • Yacht (boat) size
  • Yacht equipment

When planning your budget for a sailing holiday in Croatia, besides the costs that you pay directly to the charter company for the boat, the crew ( if hired), the final cleaning/transit log or comfort package, and tourist tax, you shall count on costs on the way, which are:

  • The crew fee depends on the boat type and size. When chartering a luxury and crewed yacht, the crew is often included in the charter price.

  • Food and drinks
  • Other private expenses: local transfers, private travel insurance...

To charter a bareboat sailing yacht, catamaran, or motorboat in Croatia, the skipper must possess sailing and navigational experience adequate to the boat size and tonnage. Besides experience, it is necessary to have a valid skipper qualification/license and the VHF license. Recognized certificates for operating boats and yachts in Croatia

For a bareboat charter in the Mediterranean, you must hold a sailing license recognized by the local port authorities. You must take your proof of competency and original certificate with you on your charter.

If you don't have the necessary skipper certificates, you can charter a boat with a professional skipper.

Thanks to its moderate climate belt position, Croatia enjoys a predominantly mild climate that favors year-round sailing opportunities.
Officially, Croatia's sailing season starts in early April and closes end of October.

  • Sailing in April, May, and October is ideal for sailing enthusiasts and professionals looking for perfect sailing conditions. The boat rental prices are up to 50% lower than in the high season.
  • June and September are ideal for exploring the Adriatic with family and friends. It's not too warm, the weather is pleasant and you can easily find a berth in the marinas and ports.
  • July and August are high season months, and you can expect many boaters on the sea. This time is fantastic for enjoying swimming and various water sports activities. This period abounds with social events, festivals, and concerts.

  • Bareboat charter: you rent the yacht without crew and sail it yourself. The skipper's license is mandatory.
  • Crewed charter: includes a skipper and, if requested, a hostess or chef.

A security deposit is an amount blocked on your credit card (or paid in cash) before departure. It covers possible damages or losses. If the yacht is returned undamaged, the deposit is fully refunded.

For luxury crewed yachts, APA is an advance payment (usually 20–30% of the charter fee) that covers fuel, food, drinks, port fees, and other expenses during the trip.

It depends on the route and your preferences. On average, guests sail 3 to 5 hours per day, with plenty of time left for swimming, exploring, or relaxing in bays and ports. It depends on the route and your preferences.

Charter TIP: It’s best not to plan to visit too many islands in a short period. Overly ambitious routes can become exhausting, leaving less time for relaxation and enjoying each destination to the fullest.

Yes, absolutely. Most guests combine supermarket shopping with dining out in restaurants/taverns on the islands. If you have a hostess or chef on board, they can handle provisioning and meal preparation for you.

We recommend bringing:

  • light and comfortable clothing, swimwear, hat, sunglasses,
  • soft-soled shoes with white soles,
  • sunscreen and personal medication,
  • passport/ID and sailing license (if bareboat charter).
